School Council Chairman:
Mr R. Stevens
Founded in 1947, Loquat Valley is a coeducational school on the Northern Beaches at Bayview providing contemporary programs of teaching, learning and Christian nurturing for children from pre-school to Year 6.
Offering a supportive small-school culture in a Christian environment, the School continues to build on the quality and quantity of special features, programs, and services. Through its ongoing affiliation with St Luke's Grammar School, continuity of education from Pre-school to Year 12 is a major benefit for students.
With a focus on academic development, sport, art, music, peer support, leadership and information and communications technology, the school aims to assist students to establish strong learning and thinking skills, to explore the natural and made worlds and the world of ideas, to learn to communicate, understand and connect with others, to develop and pursue talents, and to flourish in a community where the Bible is taught and God's love is celebrated as we serve and encourage one another.
Academic excellence is pursued with the development of an extension and challenge student program and early intervention and support is provided for students to enable them to establish strong foundations in learning . Reading and the work of the library are central to the school's learning program. Strength in the area of numeracy has been targeted with the creation of the Learning in Early Numeracy (LIEN) program.
Recent developments in facilities include the building of an early learning centre, amphitheatre, access ramps and lifts, new classrooms and the installation of a fibre optic and wireless hub network.
The strength of the school is its small size, strong focus on learning and pastoral care, and its determination to provide every child with as many opportunities as possible to enjoy learning, develop and flourish as young people.
